About the Thales Document Reader QS2000
The QS2000 is a full-page document reader from the Thales Gemalto line built for ID capture at scale. It images passports, ID cards, and driver licenses at 400 dpi in 24-bit color under white and infrared light, reads the ICAO 9303 MRZ with checksum validation, and decodes 1D and 2D barcodes including PDF417, QR, DataMatrix, and Aztec, with an AAMVA parser for North American licenses. Documents can be placed anywhere on the 125 x 90 mm window and capture triggers automatically, which keeps lines moving in hotels, casinos, age-controlled retail, banking KYC, and visitor management. Factory options add ICAO e-passport chip reading with Basic Access Control and a contact smart card slot, and optional verification software checks captured documents against a database of trusted security features. We sell it new as an authorized Thales partner. This unit is non-China manufactured.
