About the Thales Palm Scanner CS500q
The CS500q is a full-size palm and ten-print scanner from the Thales Cogent line, FBI IAFIS IQS Appendix F certified and Appendix P compliant. Its 5 x 5 inch capture surface takes four-finger slaps, half palms, writer's palms, thenar and hypothenar prints, fingertips, and rolled prints at 500 dpi with 256 gray levels, covering every supplemental print type the FBI standards define. That makes it a booking and forensic workhorse: one device completes the entire criminal ten-print and palm record. An integrated heater keeps the prism at capture temperature in cold rooms, a full-color LCD touchscreen guides the operator workflow, and capture runs at up to 25 frames per second for rolls over USB 3.0. We sell it new as an authorized Thales partner, with volume pricing available by quote.
